having successfully helmed creative departments in markets as diverse as Singapore,
Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Japan, and China. As Regional Chief Creative Officer, he drives
Lion and Lion Digital Group’s creative and innovation excellence in Asia, overseeing work
and teams across multiple markets and disciplines.
He has won creative awards across multiple categories at international, regional and
domestic award shows such as CLIO Awards, One show, One Show Greater China, Cannes,
Communication Art Annual, ADFEST, Spikes, ADSTARS, Global Best Digital Advertising Awards, London International Awards, Creative Circle Awards, ROI Awards, China International Advertising Awards, TigerRoar Awards, Red Dot Design Awards, Times Asia-Pacific Awards, IAI InternationalAdvertising Awards, and EFFIES, just to name a few. He also helped break a Guinness World Record for his digital activation campaign for DIDI App in China.
Cheelip was a guest speaker at the 2014 International Advertising Association World
Congress and was named by ChinaSmack.com as one of the leading advertising creatives in
Greater China. In 2018, he was named by Campaign Asia as a Digital A-list Achiever in China in 2018 for his achievements as a creative and digital innovator.
He has been a jury member at the China Content Marketing Awards, ECI Awards (E-Commerce Innovation Awards) ADSTARS, One Club Young Ones Jury (as well as being the One Club Young Ones Advisory Board member), LIA Chinese Creativity Awards, One Show Greater China Awards, CRESTA Global Awards, New York Festival’s AME Awards, Creativepool Awards, Cannes Young Lions, The Drum Digital Industries Awards and Cannes Lions for its first ever Creative e-Commerce category.
